I have an important announcement. After a hard period of going back and forth with it, I have decided to put FYMD on hiatus.
It’s not indefinite, but it is a hiatus. There will be no more regular updating for a while.
Don’t worry, you will not be short on Michelle news or pictures. But lately it’s been difficult to make it the place to find the newest information, as everything is already posted before I get the chance. So there will be plenty of places on here for you all to find the most up to date Michelle information.
This was the first Michelle Dockery blog on tumblr. It’s been around for over a year and a half.
I am very proud of this blog and how big it became. To have been mentioned in two major publications, LA Times Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar, was more then I ever thought would happen.
I started this because I love Michelle. I thought she was an incredible actress who, at the time, was highly underrated. But she has become so successful and, as a fan, I couldn’t be happier for her, or prouder. I’ve watched her go from slowly gainging recognition to being on the red carpet of the Emmys and the Golden Globes, nominated for best actress. She’s getting roles in major movies, mini series, and tv shows. She deserves all of it. I discovered her, as did most, from Downton Abbey. Where she dazzled us as Lady Mary Crawley. I suppose I should have realized then that she was going to be a huge star. Maybe on some subconscious level, I did. Which is why I started FYMD. I never had a desire to start a blog like this before. And I like many actors and actresses. But there was something about Michelle that I just admired right from the start. When I discovered that not one tumblr existed for her, I knew right then that I had to start one. It was slow going in the beginning as there was not much information online about her. But slowly the blog picked up steam and I watched her gain so many new fans. I’ve seen how intense her tumblr fandom can be. I’m sure she’s seen it too. I thought it was amazing, but I never prepared myself for what was next.
I got the amazing opportunity to meet Michelle as well as some of the other wonderful Downton cast members. And upon hearing from herself that she’s seen this blog was an amazing moment. And I hope she’s been happy with my work on here. I’ve always tried to be up to date, informative, and respectful, all while still celebrating my admiration for Michelle. And I hope I’ve done a good job with that.
I still love Michelle and will continue to support her. I wish I could reach out to her and tell her again how amazing it was to meet her and how she’s inspired me, how she keeps inspiring me. I wish I could just ask her how she’s liked this blog since the last time we spoke, and just tell her how wonderful she is.
Thank you guys for following and supporting. It means a lot. I hope you all enjoyed the blog and can continue to use it for things from time to time. Like Michelle’s fan mail address, or general information.
It’s been wonderful interacting with you all and being part of something so great.
And like I said, this hiatus does not mean indefinitely. I don’t know if I could stay away that long.
Again, Thank you all.
